Upstate NY SRA provides a forum for professionals to: participate in workshops and seminars at local and regional levels; encourage advancement and understanding of new methodologies and technology in the practice of risk analysis and serve as a resource for the local scientific, regulatory, industrial/municipal, and public affairs communities. Risk is defined broadly by SRA as those threats from physical, chemical, and biological agents and from a variety of human activities as well as natural events. Areas of interest include: ecological risk analysis; human health analysis; risk, science and law; economics and benefits; and public affairs and risk communication.
Membership is open to all professionals and students involved with any element of risk analysis (risk assessment, risk communication, risk management) and research informing risk analysis.
